The Force 10 club Beginners Weekend ... Aug. 23, 24/08
If you are interesting in learning how to windsurf ....then here's your chance. The Force 10 Boardsailing Club is having a Beginners weekend Aug. 23, 24 at Little Bow Lake (1.5 hrs S of Calgary). Entrance to the lake is from the East side ... head for Lomond, then turn South. Easy to get to from Keho.

Little Bow is a smallish, weed free lake with sandy beaches and a sandy bottom ... works on any wind direction ... but is especially good in strong NW conditions. Great conditions for both kites and windsurfers ... the kite launches are all a little bit tight.

Keep the above weekend free so you can participate. This is your chance to promote your sport and bring some new people to the sport. Dust off your beginner equipment  bring it out and teach someone how to windsurf.
Please contact Doug Ross if you are planning to show up and let him know what equipment you can bring. He would like to have some idea how much beginner equip is going to be on site.

Here are some pics from last years fun! See you again!

Kite Ranch is closed ... read this. May 11 / 08

Attention Kiters and Keho Lake users!

Not sure if any of you have read the latest post at the highasakite forum, but you definitely should as it does affect you ...

We are currently renegotiating the Kiteranch lease. One of the main concerns is that Farmer Don is covered for any liability from having users camp and access the lake from his property. Until we have an agreement in place the Kiteranch will continue to operate for trailer owners only. We hope to have this resolved shortly so all club members can access the ranch.

Kitebeach is also closed for camping. That being said, with the upcoming long weekend, we would ask that we make the Kehookipa (former club house) location be the campsite for the May long festivities.
That will be the place to park and tent, and IF the fireban is lifted the ideal spot to gather around a fire on the old concrete pad. Currently there will be NO open fires at the Kiteranch regardless of the ban until we have insurance in place.
Force 10 has provided for a portapotty to be delivered to Kehokipa for the weekend ... so the nasty old outhouses will not be the only options.

Those of you who currently have trailers at the kiteranch are welcome to stay, but we will party at Kehookipa. We can not have additional tents/trailers on the ranch until we finalize the agreement. Please Windsurf from Kehookipa and Kiters launch from the Graineries or Kitebeach.

We look forward to having an agreement in place shortly so that all club members can enjoy the Kiteranch.

Thanks

Gord
